S.H.O.C.K. Character Traits

Two years ago, the Queen Creek Strategic Planning Committee was created. This special committee was comprised of about 60 teachers, parents, administrators, and community members. Together we developed an amazing five-year plan for this great district.

Part of the strategic plan identified five character traits that we, as a community, felt were important for the students here at QCUSD. Those five characteristics include: service, honesty, ownership, commitment, and kindness.

You might have heard about the S.H.O.C.K. tickets that we have been passing out to your kiddos all school year. These are a special recognition for your kids that have been caught "shocking" us or displaying these important character qualities. When the student gets a S.H.O.C.K. ticket, they turn it into the front office and each morning over the announcements, we recognize a S.H.O.C.K. ticket winner from each grade level. The winners get to come up to the office and receive a prize.

Our students love to S.H.O.C.K. us on a daily basis, and we are always surprised with their creativity and overall generosity. We even have a long list of students who volunteer on a regular basis to clean up in the cafeteria instead of going out to recess just to contribute the quality of service to our school. You guys are truly raising some spectacular kids. There is not a day that goes by that we are not amazed by something new that shows how special the kids at QCE really are.
